Chiropractic Cuts Migraine Pain by 68 Percent

Chiropractic Cuts Migraine Pain by 68 Percent by Nachmias ChiropracticMigraine is a pain condition that is becoming more and more common. There is yet no primary cause to be found, but what we do know from a recent study is that chiropractic adjustments help ease migraine pain by 68 percent.

“I used to suffer from migraines every two weeks that were getting steadily worse and more frequent, not sleeping well and having major hot flashes along with other menopause issues. After being under regular, Principled Chiropractic Care, my migraines have been eliminated; I am no longer having hot flashes and I am sleeping better! I also have more energy over all!” Kay. What Causes Migraine?
The cause of migraines is still somewhat a mystery. Scientists have found a number of neurological and even genetic factors at play in regard to these often life-altering headaches, but haven’t yet identified a primary cause. Unfortunately, since the research is constantly changing, this essentially forces patients to accept treatments that temporarily ease their pain, but don’t offer any long-term solutions.

However, the first step to preventing migraines is discovering the triggers that bring them on. Except for wine, stress, and chocolate, there’s an extremely common migraine trigger that may just surprise you. It involves tiny knots of muscles in your neck, called myofascial trigger points. Only a chiropractor can break the cycle of these trigger points getting more inflamed and painful, with help of chiropractic adjustments.

Benefits of Chiropractic for Migraine Relief
Mainstream medical treatment of migraine headache relies heavily on using pharmaceuticals to manage and control migraine pain. However, medications can come with a slew of side effects like nausea, dizziness, vomiting, and even more headache from medication overuse.

Fortunately, natural remedies like chiropractic care can ease migraine without the adverse effects of chemical drugs. A 2012 study found that chiropractic adjustments and massage resulted in a 68% reduction in the intensity of migraine headache.

Included in the study were ten male migraine sufferers, who were treated with chiropractic adjustments of the upper back and neck, massage and stretching. Within an hour after receiving a chiropractic adjustment, the average patient reported a reduction in pain scores from a 5 to 0.5 (the severity of pain was rated on a scale of 1 to 10). No significant side effects were reported.

While further research is needed to fully understand the many causes of migraine, this study adds to previous research indicating the benefits of chiropractic for treating migraine (parts taken from:

Chiropractic Lowers High Blood Pressure

Chiropractic Lowers High Blood Pressure

Chiropractic Lowers High Blood Pressure by Nachmias Chiropractic - your chiropractor in NYC and BrooklynLet us start by confirming this with this statement from J.B., Osprey, FL:

I just wanted to advise you that the adjustment that your chiropractor gave me resulted in naturally lowering my blood pressure from a high of 160/90 to 108/68. This is the lowest reading I have had since I was in the Air Force over 50 years ago. The overall treatment at the clinic has increased my energy level from a 4 to a 9 on a scale of 1–10. What is High Blood Pressure?

Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps blood. If this pressure rises and stays high over time, it can damage the body in many ways. About one in three adults in the United States has HBP (high blood pressure). The scary part of this condition is that it usually has no signs or symptoms. You can basically have it for years without knowing it. During this time, though, your high blood pressure can damage your heart, blood vessels, kidneys, and other parts of your body. It can also lead to other dangerous conditions, like:

  • Heart attack: 70 percent of adults who have a first heart attack have high blood pressure
  • Stroke: 80 percent of adults who have their first stroke have high blood pressure
  • Chronic heart failure: 70 percent of adults with chronic heart failure have high blood pressure
  • Kidney failure: High blood pressure is the second leading cause of kidney failure

Research Confirms Lower High Pressure after Chiropractic Adjustments

A study conducted at The University of Chicago Hypertension Center demonstrated that patients who received chiropractic adjustments showed lowered blood pressure equal to two blood-pressure medications. Eight weeks after undergoing chiropractic adjustments, 25 patients with early-stage of high blood pressure had significantly lower blood pressure than the 25 similar patients who underwent a placebo chiropractic adjustment.

X-rays showed that the real adjustments realigned the Atlas vertebra (the bone at the very top of the spine) with the rest of the spine. The fake adjustments from the placebo-treated patients did not realign the Atlas vertebra. The base of the brain is the actual brainstem. Our brainstem has many important functions, including control of the cardiovascular system. When the Atlas vertebra is subluxated (misaligned) as little as only half a millimeter, it can create abnormal pressure on the brainstem.

Compared to the placebo-treated patients, those who received the real adjustment saw an average of 14 mm Hg greater drop in systolic blood pressure (the top number in a blood pressure count), and an average of 8 mm Hg greater drop in diastolic blood pressure (the bottom blood pressure number). None of the patients took blood pressure medicine during the eight-week study (parts taken from: &

Although, chiropractic adjustments focus on the spine they have huge impact on the whole body. If the spine is misaligned because of subluxations, the nerve flow to the nervous system gets interrupted, and therefore also you immune system and health. To summarize, chiropractic adjustments enhance normal human function and health.

Nachmias Chiropractic wants to advice you to go and check your blood pressure with a doctor and if it turns out to be high, try chiropractic adjustments before you start eating BP medication. Chemical drugs often have unwanted side effects that sometimes can be a lot worse than the actual sickness. Let Dr. Adam Nachmias help you back to lower BP before anything else. Dr. Adam has 26 years experience of healing patients from HBP and tons of other conditions.

Nachmias Chiropractic – Certified in Treating Patients Injured from Auto Accidents

Nachmias Chiropractic – Certified in Treating Patients Injured from Auto Accidents

Nachmias Chiropractic- Certified in Treating Patients Injured from Auto Accidents Has an auto/car accident injury left you struggling with chronic pain? Back pain, neck pain, headaches and migraines are just a few of the serious pain problems caused by auto accidents. Even if you walk away with only a few bruises, you may still have sustained serious spinal injuries that may not begin to show symptoms until days or months after the accident.

The worst mistake you can make after getting into an auto accident is to assume that it will be fine or just cover up the symptoms with Tylenol or some other pain killer. These drugs will not fix the problem, and could allow injuries to get worse in the near future or cause you permanent damage later on from allowing the injury to “sit in” and get worse. This happens all too often, and years down the road can be too late to effectively treat conditions like these.

In order to understand why you should turn to Dr. Adam Nachmias after an auto accident injury and why he is so successful in treating these types of injuries, it is important to understand exactly what happens to the spine during an auto accident. The force of a rear impact accident, even at slow speeds, can “whip” the cervical spine backwards and forwards. When this force acts on the spine, it can knock it out of alignment. If a slipped or herniated disc compresses nearby nerves, accident victims will experience a radiating or numbing pain sensation in the body. As long as this disc continues to place pressure on the nerves, patients will continue to experience pain.

Whiplash treatment is usually one of the key parts of auto accident injury recovery, and
Dr. Adam Nachmias can help explore all the best ways to treat this ailment. Whiplash injuries cause more than neck pain; they are also responsible for headaches and migraines, and may even affect a patient’s ability to concentrate. Unfortunately, as long as the spinal misalignment persists, so will these pain symptoms.

Sciatica, a pain condition symptomatic of a misalignment in the lower spine, is also a frequent auto accident injury. A numbing or radiating pain sensation along the buttocks, legs and lower back characterizes this painful condition. Chiropractic adjustments can help restore the spine’s natural curvature, relieving pressure on the sciatic nerve. This is another example of how chiropractic care can make a difference for auto injury patients.

Not all chiropractors are certified personal injury chiropractors, but Dr. Adam is one of them and is expert in treating whiplash and sciatica injuries from auto accidents. A personal injury certified chiropractor is essential to diagnose injuries to the soft tissues and joints. The examination procedure will include x-ray analysis, orthopedic evaluation, neurological testing and hands on feeling of the joints and muscles. Afterwards,
Dr. Adam can form a good treatment plan to first of all relieve the patient from pain, get them active and fully functional again, and most important resolve the injuries so that there are not long-lasting effects.

Note! Restoring natural movement is an important part of auto accident injury recovery. Immobilizing an injury, such as using a cervical collar to immobilize the neck after an accident, can actually block the healing process. A cervical collar restricts movement and blood flow, which slows healing
